Origin: lgc. Landing-place: terminal.
An escape sequence comprises two or more double quote characters followed by one character which is not a double quote. The 'Unknown escape in page' error message indicates that lgc found an escape sequence inside a page name which did not make sense in that context. As an example, the following gives an 'Unknown escape in page':
""P abc""Rdef
Comments can be used anywhere. Apart from that, the only escape sequence which makes sense in a page name is the ""n sequence which can be used as an alternative for a newline for terminating the page name.
